Plitt Intermountain Theatres Corp. opened the University I and University II cinemas on 30 August 1974.  The theaters were located inside the University Mall and had seating capacities of 568 and 390.^[1]  Cineplex Odeon closed the theater after building a new four-screen theater on the north side of the mall.  Some of the seats from the University I & II Cinemas were used in the Pages Lane Theatre in Centerfield in 1990.^[2]
